You have to be careful when aligning the pictures in the 18432 x 1536 canvas or you will get white stripes in the stitched panorama.

  • Excellent tutorial, just what I've been looking for. Without a fancy slidebar you can make do with shifting the camera+tripod a few cm between shots to get stereo separation. With Photoshop I could skip your initial resizing step, and drag and drop the images straight from the folder into the 18432×1536 file – images resize automatically to fit (CS6, Mac) and edges 'snap' together – so very easy to align properly (then automate with Actions). When copying to my Samsung S7 I had to create the folders '360Photos' and 'My Images' inside the Oculus folder. Jpgs are fine. NOTE with this technique only half the 360° will be stereo! – the view 'behind' you will be pseudoscopic (inverted stereo). – I made a mask in Photoshop so I can swap the inverted images but alignment's pretty difficult and I'm happy with just 180°. Quick stereo photography tutorial here btw: http://www.ssnz.co/newbies-page Thanks!
